Analyst, Fund Finance & Operations

Primary Responsibilities

  • Own key elements of the quarterly and annual valuation process across the Rethink venture portfolios, including collecting and analyzing financial reporting for 70+ companies and managing the preparation and documentation for the portfolio valuation process.
  • Manage the end-to-end LP reporting process, coordinating the collection, analysis, and presentation of fund and portfolio performance information for investor reporting.
  • Maintain and update a library of current valuation metrics, including private and public trading multiples for comparable companies and M&A transactions.
  • Manage investor activities, including serving as a key liaison between the Rethink Capital Partners team and our fund administrators and helping coordinate information and reporting requests.
  • Manage the operational and financial processes associated with follow-on investments in existing portfolio companies, working closely with the investment and finance teams to ensure transactions are executed accurately and efficiently.
  • Support the management of the annual year-end financial audit of the assigned portfolios.
  • Manage the annual impact reporting process for the assigned portfolios, including producing the annual impact report; collecting, managing, and assessing impact data and relevant industry benchmarks; and generating charts, graphs, and presentations that communicate portfolio performance.
  • Future responsibilities may include financial modeling, building and maintaining waterfalls and pro forma cap tables, and preparing exit scenario analyses with investment team members.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience in accounting (ideally transaction advisory services), investment banking (including technology, education, workforce, healthcare, or financial inclusion), fund accounting, or a similar role requiring strong financial and analytical skills.
  • Ability to analyze quarterly financial statements and identify key insights and performance trends.
  • Familiarity with company valuation methodologies, including comparable company analysis and precedent transactions.
  • Resourcefulness in identifying and synthesizing key financial and operating data on public and private companies from a range of sources, including PitchBook, industry publications, news articles, and other market intelligence, to support due diligence and valuation efforts for existing and prospective portfolio companies.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to coordinate processes involving multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated interest in education, economic mobility, and/or social or impact is a plus.

  • Superb communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with team members, counterparties, investors, service providers, and other stakeholders with diverse working styles.
  • A high degree of ownership; a self-starter and fast learner who can work independently while also taking pride in contributing to collective team outcomes.

Experience

While we are open to a range of backgrounds, a typical candidate will have 1-2 years of investment banking, accounting, transaction advisory, fund accounting, or similar experience, including work requiring a high degree of analytical rigor and attention to detail.

  • Competitive compensation. Salary range: $80,000 – $95,000, experience dependent.

Work Location & Eligibility

This position is based in the Rethink Capital Partners office in White Plains, New York, and requires working in the office at least three days per week. Candidates should be able to commute reliably to White Plains on required in-office days.
