New Investments in 2025

Scout EDU: We’re excited to back a company redefining how K–12 schools manage student data in an era of rising administrative complexity. Founded in 2024 by Max Bertfield and Noah Fichter, Scout is building a modern student information system (SIS) from the ground up, leveraging AI to automate compliance tasks, improve data accuracy, and streamline family engagement. Unlike legacy SIS platforms, Scout is designed with usability and scale in mind, offering educators a smarter way to reduce costly errors and reclaim their time. As schools look to operate more efficiently while staying compliant, Scout is uniquely positioned to become the backbone infrastructure of the next generation of school operations.
Edapt Schools: We’re thrilled to support an EdTech solution turning artificial intelligence into a practical resource for school districts nationwide. Edapt partners directly with education leaders to develop custom tools that reduce operational friction, streamline administrative processes, and support staff training. Their approach is not about replacing educators; it’s about empowering them. By offering AI training and implementation support, Edapt helps educators build confidence with new tools while ensuring equitable access to technology across districts. Their mission to increase digital literacy and reduce educator burnout is deeply aligned with our broader vision for a resilient,human-centered education system.
Edexia: An AI-powered grading platform designed to bring relief to overburdened teachers while enhancing feedback for students that we are proud to back. Edexia automates the grading of assignments across a wide range of subjects, from essays and diagrams to technical answers, while preserving the educator’s unique style and intent. Teachers maintain full control and visibility, with the system providing clear explanations and insights that promote consistency and reduce bias. In a system where teacher capacity is stretched thin, Edexia is not just a time-saver, it’s a tool for improving instructional quality and equity.

Montamo: We’re excited to have participated in Montamo’s €6 million Seed round, supporting a company that is tackling one of the most urgent bottlenecks in the clean energy transition: labor. With governments and industries committing billions to climate infrastructure, there is a massive shortage of trained professionals capable of installing and maintaining the systems needed to decarbonize. Montano’s platform delivers hands-on, accessible training for high-demand clean tech roles, from solar and heat pump installations to EV infrastructure and beyond. By enabling workers to move out of low-wage gig jobs into secure, skilled careers, Montamo is not only addressing a labor shortfall but expanding economic mobility.
Hiveclass: Reimagining physical education for the modern classroom. Their platform delivers a rich library of virtual PE content, including courses on sports fundamentals, dance, yoga, nutrition, and self-defense, making high-quality movement education accessible to all students regardless of school resources or physical space. As childhood physical activity declines and screen time rises, Hiveclass is helping districts and parents reengage students through interactive, skills-based learning that’s fun and inclusive. We believe Hiveclass is creating a powerful, scalable tool to support both mental and physical health in the K–12 system.
Avela Health: is setting a new standard for neurodivergent care through speed, accessibility, and compassion. We’re honored to support their mission to radically improve how families access autism evaluations and therapy. Avela offers virtual, clinician-led evaluations and evidence-based therapy programs tailored to each individual’s needs, often beginning services within days rather than the months-long wait typical of traditional providers. Their platform also integrates family-centered interventions, prioritizing emotional support and real developmental progress. With a highly experienced clinical team and a digital-first delivery model, Avela is poised to become a trusted solution for families navigating the complex world of neurodivergent care.

We see Teal as a key player in the emerging category of personal career infrastructure.
Abl, a Rethink portfolio company focused on unlocking operational equity in K–12 schools, was acquired by BetterLesson, a strategic move that brings Abl’s powerful scheduling and resource allocation tools into the hands of thousands of district leaders. The move signals growing global demand for Guild’s workforce education model, which helps employers invest in upskilling, mobility, and retention at scale. As companies increasingly compete on talent development, Guild’s international presence strengthens its leadership in the future of work.
Team Updates
At our Annual Investor Meeting on June 18th, we shared our vision and priorities in response to the dynamics reshaping education, workforce development, and lifelong learning. The conversation highlighted key shifts transforming the landscape, from the accelerating role of AI in both classrooms and workplaces, to the rising urgency around reskilling in both skilled trades and knowledge-based roles. We also explored the growing demand for more equitable, affordable, and accessible pathways that lead to meaningful learner outcomes. Founders from our portfolio including Rasa Legal, River Health, Montamo, Hiveclass, and Campus shared how their platforms are delivering meaningful outcomes, from expanding access to care and skills training to rethinking student wellness and higher education. These themes are guiding our investments as we work to build more inclusive and future-ready learning ecosystems.
